Well a week has passed and still no job. I did have one interest but the manager is going on vacation for two weeks. Bummer. So, the look continues.
I also had to take an online logic test for a position in Tucson. It lasted for two hours consisting of math, vocabulary, and psychological questions. It was hard and very frustrating. I never seem to do very well on those types of tests.
Being home is getting boring. I can clean the house all day but then what is there left to do. I play free online slots and other games plus work on my basket. I do have the material for a quiver. So, once the basket is completed I will start on the quiver.
I am trying to save as much money as I can. I just received my last paycheck. I have enought to get by for one month but then...who knows. I will have unemployment coming in but that is only enough to pay for the utilities. I will definately have to start cutting back. But I can't get rid of the Internet. I can get some cash from my credit card but only enought to cover one months rent.
Boy I hope I get a job soon.

The search continues
My search area has expanded to Tucson. I was able to apply for a few more jobs today. I also got my first call for a position. The only thing is that it is in North Carolina. But the pay would be good and it would be for 6 months only. The search continues.

Introduction
Hello, my name is Sherry and I am now unemployed. I live in Laveen, AZ in a home I just had built 1 year ago. I have never owned my own home before so this was an exciting time for me. I have lived in Arizona for two years now. I am an Ohio native. I love Arizona. I have finally gotten used to the heat - today it was 113.
I had to go to contract work after I graduated from college with my bachelor's in 2005 because I could not get full time work. I have become accustomed to the pay this brings in but contracts do not last very long. I guess in the long run it would be best to have a full time job. At least the money would come in on a regular basis. But there are so many layoffs.
Arizona has been hard hit with many layoffs and the devaluation of the home prices. My house has dropped in value about $30,000+ and is probably still decreasing.

What a shock - the phone call from HELL
Friday July 10th I get a call from my contractor boss. The company I am working for has laid me off. There was no warning, nothing. I just do not have a job anymore. What a bummer. I am now one of the thousands of people without a job.
I thought Friday was going to be a great night. A friend of ours had come over to stay the night and we were enjoying the spa, the fantastic food (I have to admit I was very impressed with how the pork dinner I made turned out), and great conversation and then the phone rang.... It is to bad I don't drink. My friend was very upset, I was in shock, my partner felt very bad for me.
