I have been a 18th century civilian reenactor/merchant for over 20 years. I have been a member of the Brigade of the American Revolution - Northwest department - 64th Regiment of foot (camp follower), 2nd Artillery - Fort Meigs (artillerist and merchant), militia groups, and finally as a merchant attending military and civilian events plus trade fairs.
I have made baskets off and on for about 20 years specializing in utilitarian baskets using plaited, twined, and coiled methods. I have taught basket classes and sold my baskets at craft shows and reenactment events. I also have made twined native american storage bags out of wool, hemp, and natural materials.
I sell reed, bark, & wood splints, waxed linen thread, tools, basket kits, linen thread kits, books, etc.
I also have been an instructional designer/trainer for over 15 years.
My search area has expanded to Tucson. I was able to apply for a few more jobs today. I also got my first call for a position. The only thing is that it is in North Carolina. But the pay would be good and it would be for 6 months only. The search continues.
